I guess it shows why some of the real pristine old Altec gear goes for crazy money in Asia. I thought I had it bad.....

It does make me wonder how they sound....

Funny! I was thinking on the drive home that's exactly what you need!

Having heard the WE15s, nothing else comes close. Insanely good. I've spoken with the guy who makes the replicas, nice fellow.

My sad story. I knew where they was a pair of the 11' version of these in an old cinema. They were labeled Vitaphone, but basically an 11' version of the WE-15. A matched pair! I could have had them, but had nowhere to put them.* Moved away for 8 years, came back and they were gone. They had waited for me for 80 years, but finally ran out of patience.

*I actually tried to give them to Francis Coppola, as he claims his uncle invented Vitaphone, but he didn't want them.
